The world-famous geothermal pool is one of the most preferred tourist areas of Iceland.  It creates a contrasting image with the black lava-covered areas around it and fascinates those who see it.  In addition, it is possible to see the northern lights while swimming in these hot water pools, which allow swimming even in very cold weather.<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1158\" width=\"841\" height=\"516\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/mavi-gol1.jpg\" data-lazy- title=\"\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/mavi-gol1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1158\" width=\"841\" height=\"516\" title=\"\"><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>The water of the pool is very rich in minerals such as sulfur and silica, which are good for the skin.  A major renovation in 1992, the pool has gained a reputation as a world-class tourist attraction.  The Blue Lagoon takes its name from its blue waters.  The substance in it, called silica, gives water a blue color.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"867\" height=\"650\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1159\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/mavi-lagun-kapak.jpg\" data-lazy- title=\"\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"867\" height=\"650\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/mavi-lagun-kapak.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1159\" title=\"\"><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>Iceland, which is a very cold country in the north, is covered with volcanoes.  For this reason, it is one of the most suitable regions where geothermal hot springs are located.  Blue Lagoon, a natural geothermal water pool, is fed by water from nearby power plants and its water is constantly renewed.  Even at temperatures of minus degrees, the pools, which have a temperature of 38-40 degrees, offer swimming pleasure.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"990\" height=\"742\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1160\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/mavi-lagun3.jpg\" data-lazy- title=\"\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"990\" height=\"742\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/mavi-lagun3.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1160\" title=\"\"><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>The Blue Lagoon emerged in 1974 when excess water was released from the Svartsengi power plant.  After 1987, geothermal facilities started to be established in a place that was only known by the local people when it was first formed and where there was no facility.  It is not possible to see the bottom of the pool because the water is heavily calcareous.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1162\" width=\"840\" height=\"515\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/mavi-lagun.jpg\" data-lazy- title=\"\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/mavi-lagun.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1162\" width=\"840\" height=\"515\" title=\"\"><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>There are spa centers for massage and therapy in the Blue Lagoon, which is very popular for swimming.  There are also shops, restaurants, cafes and bars selling skin care products that are good for skin care.  There are many hotels and pensions that offer accommodation.  In addition to tourism income from these pools, geothermal electricity is also produced.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1163\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/mavi-gol-1024x683.jpg\" data-lazy- title=\"\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/mavi-gol-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1163\" title=\"\"><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>It is necessary to make a reservation in advance to go to the pool, which is very busy for tourists.  Since the bottom of the lagoon is covered with silica, a soft texture emerges.  The silica in its base is good for the skin and is applied to the face and the whole body by the visitors.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"681\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1164\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/mavi-lagun1.jpg\" data-lazy- title=\"\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"681\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/mavi-lagun1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1164\" title=\"\"><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>Conveniently located, the Blue Lagoon is 20 minutes away from Keflavik Airport.
