The first is in the form of ice crystals, as on Earth, and the second is in the form of dry ice, known as carbon dioxide ice. Carbon dioxide ice can be seen in craters on Mars during the winter months and builds up on the surface to form layers. Conventional ice crystals, on the other hand, turn into gas without falling to the ground, that is, without becoming solid, due to Mars&#8217; thin atmosphere and sub-zero temperatures. Snow in the form of carbon dioxide ice, on the other hand, descended to the surface, forming a layer of snow up to one meter in the polar regions.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5489\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/mars1-1024x640.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"640\" data-lazy-=\"\" title=\"\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"640\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/mars1-1024x640.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5489\" title=\"\"><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>This type of snow can only be seen at night at the poles under cloud cover. It has not been detected by any orbiter or surface probe. Because the cameras cannot look behind the clouds and the survey vehicle is not strong enough to withstand the cold temperatures in the poles. These discoveries have helped to better understand the weather conditions on Mars and the planet&#8217;s atmosphere. The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter orbiter contains devices that can detect lights that are invisible to the human eye.
