However, it is claimed to have been occupied by China in 1950. The People’s Republic of China, on the other hand, argues that Tibet historically belonged to China and emerged only from China’s political influence between 1913 and 1950. China claims to have recognized political autonomy by seizing the region in 1950. Those who support Tibet’s independence claim that the culture and riches in the region have been subjected to a cultural genocide. However, the Chinese government describes these claims as untrue.

The Dalai Lama, who started a rebellion against the Chinese government in 1959, immigrated to India upon the invitation of the Indian government after the peace could not be achieved. Disputes exist today between China and the Tibetan government-in-exile about when Tibet became part of China and the validity of China’s domination of Tibet. All modern China, including Tibet, is considered part of East Asia. Historically, some European sources consider parts of Tibet to be in Central Asia. Tibet is west of the Central China Plain and is within mainland China. This belief system originated in Tibet in the 5th century but spread to the majority of the people in the 7th century with the Tibetan King Srongsten Gampo. Buddhism is not actually a religion, its basic principles are philosophy and moral teachings, and there is no concept of god. Worshiping nature, self-control, and giving importance to moral values form the basis of the Buddhism system.
