It is surrounded by \u201cKediet Ej Jill Mountain\u201d in the northwest of the Great Sahara Desert.  This remarkable formation can only be viewed from space.  The eye of the Sahara was discovered by astronauts McDiwitt and White in 1965.  The formation is striking enough to help astronauts navigate into space.<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-841\" width=\"840\" height=\"560\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/colun-gozu.jpg\" data-lazy- title=\"\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/colun-gozu.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-841\" width=\"840\" height=\"560\" title=\"\"><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>It is estimated that the Sahara&#8217;s eye was formed as a result of a meteorite falling.  But some experts have different views on the formation.  It is said that the eye is formed by the effect on the stones in the region as a result of water and wind erosion.  Sedimentary rocks and quartz stones form the sides of the eye-like formation, and basalt and volcanic stones with a 600-year history form the pupil part.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"960\" height=\"637\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-842\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/colun-gozu2.jpg\" data-lazy- title=\"\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"960\" height=\"637\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/colun-gozu2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-842\" title=\"\"><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>Since the day it was discovered, it has become a symbol that guides astronauts.  Considered the eye of the Sahara by astronauts, this place has been named by NASA as the &#8220;Astronaut Lighthouse&#8221; or &#8220;Eye of the World&#8221;.  Many legends are told about the existence of the interesting formation.  Some are even said to be the remnants of the lost civilization of Atlantis.  Scientists believe that the Sahara Desert is a place that was underwater before it became a desert.<a href=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/bir-gecede-ortadan-kaybolan-kayip-kita-atlantis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> <strong>The Lost Continent of Atlantis<\/strong> <\/a>dwells on the possibility.  There are still some issues that remain mysterious about the interesting formation.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-843\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/colun-gozu1-1024x683.jpg\" data-lazy- title=\"\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/colun-gozu1-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-843\" title=\"\"><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<h3 id=\"colun-ortasinda-devasa-el-heykeli\"><strong>Giant Hand Statue in the Middle of the Desert<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Known as the hand of the desert, Mano Del Desierto is one of the most magnificent sculptures in the world.  Statue <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/dunyanin-enleri-listesi\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hottest place in the world<\/a>I<\/strong> It is located in the Atacama Desert in Chile.  The statue was built in 1992 by Mario Irarrazabel, a Chilean sculptor.  It is one of the most important tourist attractions of the country.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"686\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-844\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/colun-eli2.jpg\" data-lazy- title=\"\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"686\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/colun-eli2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-844\" title=\"\"><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>About an hour south of Antofagasta, the giant statue is an interesting structure set in the middle of the desert made up of only sand and low hills.  With its fascinating structure, it is visited by many tourists throughout the year.  Since the sculpture is damaged by the drawings and writings on it, it is expected by the security guard and is cleaned regularly.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"685\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-846\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/colun-eli4.jpg\" data-lazy- title=\"\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"685\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/colun-eli4.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-846\" title=\"\"><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>The height of the statue, which was made by pouring cement on an iron skeleton, is 12 meters.  The hand, which has a very natural appearance, is extremely frightening, as if reaching out through the sand.  11 meters of the statue is on the sand and 1 meter is in the sand.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-847\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/colun-eli3-1024x682.jpg\" data-lazy- title=\"\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/colun-eli3-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-847\" title=\"\"><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>The statue, which attracts attention with its gigantic size and impressive appearance, has an extraordinary meaning.  The gigantic hand established on the desert where no one has ever visited;  expresses feelings such as loneliness, sadness, justice and torture.  The statue was made in honor of the victims after the injustice experienced during the military regime in Chile.  The hand, which is the symbol of human despair and sadness in the face of nature, is located in a region that is difficult to reach.
