Turkey has taken important steps in many areas recently and achieved great success in projects that require high technology such as health, space studies, UAV-S\u0130HA, electric and driverless domestic cars. These projects began to bear fruit with examples such as S\u0130HAs that changed the course of war in war zones, TCG Anadolu, Turkey’s first aircraft carrier, and TOGG, the domestic automobile project. In addition to the projects it has implemented, the country plans to implement many projects in the near future. Turkey has recently become one of the most striking countries, especially with its breakthroughs in the defense industry.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Turkey’s First Domestic Car TOGG<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The domestic automobile project called TOGG (Turkey’s Automobile Enterprise Group) aims to increase Turkey’s domestic and national technological development in automobile production. TOGG is a domestic automobile project realized in line with Turkey’s goal of becoming a global brand. Developed to gain an important place in the electric vehicle market, TOGG stands out as a vehicle equipped with the internet of things infrastructure. As an indicator of the point Turkey has reached in the automotive industry, TOGG became ready for mass production on October 29, 2022 and hit the road in March 2023.<\/p>\n

Turkey’s First National Communication Satellite T\u00fcrksat-6A<\/strong><\/h3>\n

T\u00fcrksat-6A, one of Turkey’s breakthroughs in the field of national communications, is ready to be launched into orbit after the completion of its production and integration activities. Successfully placing this satellite into orbit will help Turkey strengthen its communications infrastructure and gain a stronger international position. T\u00fcrksat-6A will go down in history as Turkey’s first national communication satellite. The tests of T\u00fcrksat-6A, Turkey’s domestic and national communication satellite, continue successfully and it is aimed to launch the satellite with SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket in 2023. This project is also of great importance in terms of maintaining Turkey’s rise in space technologies.<\/p>\n

Turkey’s First National Observation Satellite IMECE<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Developed by T\u00dcB\u0130TAK UZAY, Turkey’s first domestic and national high-definition imaging satellite, IMECE, was launched into space on April 15, 2023, from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, USA, on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. The first signal from the satellite was also successfully received. This project will allow the country to make observations in space with its own means. The IMECE project is of great importance in terms of strengthening Turkey’s technological infrastructure and moving forward in space studies.<\/p>\n

Turkish Black Sea Gas<\/strong><\/h3>\n
\"\"<\/figure>\n

The gas to be obtained from Sakarya Gas Field, Turkey’s natural gas field discovered in the Black Sea, is planned to be made available to homes in the first quarter of 2023. It is aimed that the gas obtained from the Danube-1 well in the field will play an important role in meeting Turkey’s energy needs. Considering that a large part of Turkey’s energy needs are based on natural gas imports, the use of natural gas resources discovered in the Black Sea is also important for the country’s energy independence. It is aimed to make the production available to citizens in the first quarter of 2023. The production, which will start with a daily capacity of 10 million cubic meters, will reach the maximum level in 2-3 years. By 2025, it is planned to reach a capacity of 40 million cubic meters per day and it is aimed to meet the natural gas needs of all residences.<\/p>\n

Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant is Turkey’s first nuclear power plant under construction. It is being built in the area near the town of B\u00fcy\u00fckeceli, which is administratively connected to the G\u00fclnar district of Mersin province. On April 27, 2023, fuel rods were brought and the structure began to be called a nuclear facility. Electricity generation at the first reactor is planned to start around 2024.<\/p>\n

National Combat Aircraft<\/strong><\/h3>\n

An important development in the defense industry in Turkey is the National Combat Fighter Aircraft developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSA\u015e). This aircraft will make a great contribution to Turkey’s air power. The aircraft’s departure from the hangar is planned for 2023 and its maiden flight is expected between 2025 and 2026. The aircraft will be included in the inventory after 2028.<\/p>\n

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Manufactured in Turkey<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Bayraktar Ak\u0131nc\u0131, developed by Turkey-based defense industry company Baykar Defense, is a high altitude long endurance (HALE) class armed unmanned aerial vehicle. It was included in the Turkish Armed Forces inventory for the first time on 29 August 2021. Ak\u0131nc\u0131 has a maximum take-off weight of more than 5500 kg with its two turboprop engines. 1350 kg of this weight consists of useful load. It is also known as the Attack Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (T\u0130HA) because it is a vehicle capable of air-air combat.<\/p>\n

It has many equipment such as electronic support and countermeasure systems, dual satellite communication systems, air-to-air radar, collision avoidance radar and nationally developed synthetic aperture radar. There are 3 different variants of Ak\u0131nc\u0131 with different engines: Ak\u0131nc\u0131 A, Ak\u0131nc\u0131 B and Ak\u0131nc\u0131 C. Baykar Defense draws attention with its innovations in unmanned aerial vehicle (S\u0130HA) technologies developed in Turkey. The company’s latest success represents a world first.<\/p>\n

Technologies Developed by Turkey at Sea<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Turkey has been making significant progress in the defense industry in recent years, and the innovations it has made in this field draw worldwide attention. Developed especially in the field of naval technologies, TCG Anadolu stands out as Turkey’s largest military ship and is aimed to increase its power at sea. In addition, Turkey’s state-of-the-art land vehicles and ammunition products attract great attention at defense fairs.<\/p>\n

TCG Anadolu (L-400) is an LHD class warship in the inventory of the Turkish Navy. TCG Anadolu, the first LHD ship in the history of the Turkish Navy, took its name from the Anatolian peninsula. The ship, which was built at Istanbul-based Sedef Shipyard, joined the Turkish Naval Forces inventory on April 10, 2023. While the ship serves as a command center and flagship for the Turkish Naval Forces, it has the capacity to meet the various needs of the Turkish Armed Forces such as long-term combat, long-range military operations or humanitarian aid operations. TCG Anadolu was designed and manufactured by Turkish companies in order to increase the localization rate of Turkey’s defense industry.<\/p>\n

Local Respirator and TURKOVAC Support<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Turkey continued to develop technological solutions to reduce the negative effects of the disease after the emergence of the Covid-19 outbreak. The Biovent Intensive Care Type Mechanical Respirator, developed under the leadership of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Industry and Technology, with the work of Ar\u00e7elik, ASELSAN, Baykar and Biosys engineers, offered a solution to the widespread respiratory equipment shortage in the first months of the Covid-19 epidemic. This device, in addition to healing Covid-19 patients in Turkey, has also helped other patients by being exported to various parts of the world.<\/p>\n

One of the biggest contributions in the fight against Covid-19 was provided by TURKOVAC, a domestic vaccine developed in Turkey. Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine Faculty Member of Medical Microbiology Department Prof. Dr. This domestic vaccine, developed by Aykut \u00d6zdarendeli and his team, has also been sent to many countries around the world that are difficult to access.<\/p>\n

Investments in the Turkish Gaming Industry<\/strong><\/h3>\n

One of the sectors that has a bright position in the technology sector in Turkey lately is the game sector. The Turkish gaming industry, which attracted attention around the world with the sale of Peak Games for $1.8 billion, continued to receive investments in the following period. In 2020, the sector that received the most investment in Turkey was the gaming sector, while in 2021, the Turkish gaming sector received more than 50 investments in total. One of the biggest investments of 2021 is Dream Games’ investment of 155 million dollars.<\/p>\n

There are more than 2,636 Turkish publishers among 158,096 game publishers on Google Play. In addition, there are more than 8,890 games from Turkish publishers among 424,964 games on Google Play. Games developed by Turkish game publishers are among the most downloaded games, especially in the United States (USA).<\/p>\n

T-129 ATAK Designed for Turkish Armed Forces<\/strong><\/h3>\n

T-129 ATAK is an attack and tactical reconnaissance helicopter designed for the Turkish Armed Forces in accordance with Turkey’s geographical and climatic conditions and produced in cooperation with TAI and AgustaWestland. It has been developed within the scope of the ATAK program and enables the successful fulfillment of tasks with its various features. ATAK helicopters, which have been serving the Turkish Armed Forces since 2014, are also actively used in the armies of Pakistan and the Philippines, and are in demand from other countries as well.<\/p>\n

The Numbers of Turcorns Are Increasing<\/strong><\/h3>\n
