However, there are some narratives that bring together the worlds of angels and humans. The books of Enoch describe that angels were sent by God to watch over humanity. But some of them stepped into the world out of love for people, where they attained their physical existence. The half-angel, half-human giants descended from these angels were called Nephilim.

Fallen Angels

The Enoch books speak of angels watching over humanity. Some of these angels took an interest in humans and came down to earth physically. These fallen angels had offspring called Nephilim, known as giants who were half human and half angel. In the book of Enoch it is told that fallen angels taught people magic. But fallen angels, sinners, and rebels were punished by the punishing angels.

In the book of Enoch, St. Prophet Idris (Enoch) travels to heaven and encounters angels imprisoned in the second heaven. He encounters rebellious angels in fifth heaven and tries to save them. The leader of these fallen angels is called Satanail (Iblis). However, Satanail is seen as God’s rejection of his successor as the reason for his expulsion from heaven.

Fallen Angels According to Judaism

Judaism has a similar understanding of angels to Islam. They reject the idea of fallen angels transforming into physical bodies, as in the books of Enoch. For them, fallen angels are angels punished for their mistakes. In Islam, angels are beings sent by Allah for certain tasks. Because they have no evil impulses, they do not go against their Creator. However, angels can also make mistakes and fail when they want to transcend their high positions.

Fallen Angels According to Christianity

According to Christian belief, fallen angels are angels who rebelled against God, along with Lucifer. These angels were driven away by Archangel Michael in a war in heaven. In the holy books, the fall of the angels and the war in heaven are told.

St. Augustine’s thoughts were shaped under the influence of Manichaeism and became an important source for angels and demons in Christian thought. Augustine suggested that the world is divided between good and evil forces. Good angels were associated with the holy, while Lucifer and other fallen angels were representatives of evil forces. According to Augustine, fallen angels were not originally evil, but they consciously chose evil. According to this understanding, the salvation of fallen angels is not possible.

Fallen Angels According to Islamic Faith

fallen angels according to Islam; They are servants of God, not enemies. According to this belief, the term “jinn” is used instead of fallen angels. Some scholars argue that fallen angels are different kinds of beings than demons. There is a consensus among religious scholars that the demons did not fall from heaven, but tried to climb there.

Nephilim, Half Human Half Angel

The Nephilim, or Nephilim, are the beings mentioned in the Book of Genesis in chapter 6:1-4, born of the union of “sons of God” and “daughters of men” before the Great Flood. The origin of the word may be derived from the Hebrew word “n-ph-l” meaning “to fall”, but some sources deny this. The “-im” suffix in the word “Nephilim” is the masculine-plural suffix in Hebrew. Therefore, the word Nephilim can be translated as “giants”. Discovering the meaning of the true story behind this word is a subject that has deeply affected researchers and theologians throughout history.

The Nephilim are thought to be mentioned in three different places in canonized Bible texts. First, in Genesis 6:4, it takes place just after the story of Noah’s ark.

The second reference to the Nephilim is found in Numbers 13:32. In this episode, the Twelve Spies describe seeing the terrible giants.

The third reference is in Ezekiel chapter 32:27, according to some views. However, there is no consensus on this issue.

In apocryphal texts such as the book of Enoch, the Nephilim are discussed in detail. In these texts, they are described as fallen angels and beings of human descent. However, these views are generally found in apocryphal texts and are not accepted by the official Jewish and Christian denominations.

There are many English translations of the Testament in which the Nephilim are interpreted as giants. It is also seen in historical sources that the term sons of God is used to refer to angels. There is also the view that the Nephilim were born as a result of the relationship of fallen angels with humans.

The Nephilim have been interpreted differently in different interpretations. Some criticisms have been leveled against the theory of the union of fallen angels with humans, with arguments such as Jesus’ saying that angels cannot marry.

Another interpretation is that the Nephilim are descended from Seth and Cain (Cain). According to this approach, “sons of God” represent men on the right path, and “daughters of men” represent women who have gone astray, and the Nephilim originate from the union of these two groups.

The sky has been an area that mankind has admired throughout history.
