The giant Turkish Flag project, which was initiated in the Derinkuyu district of Nev\u015fehir within the framework of the 100th anniversary celebrations of the Republic of Turkey, hosted a surprising discovery during the construction of the flag shaped with concrete.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Workers found an unexpected cave entrance during road construction. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/muhtesem-kapadokya-bolgesi-ve-mutlaka-gorulmesi-gereken-yerleri\/\">Cappadocia region<\/a><\/strong>It opened the door to a fascinating underground city hidden in the heart of the city.  While this discovery created great excitement among local people and history enthusiasts, the potential of this newly discovered underground city to be opened to tourism came to the fore.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\" width=\"1024\" height=\"588\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/nevsehir2-1024x588.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10157\" title=\"\"><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-yol-calismalari-sirasinda-tarihi-bir-kesif\"><strong>A Historical Discovery During Road Works<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><strong>Derinkuyu <\/strong>During the construction works of the ongoing project in Do\u011fala Village of the district, <strong>T\u0131naz Tepe<\/strong>An ancient site was discovered by chance at the construction site in <strong>underground city<\/strong> was discovered.  The project team stopped work to further examine this historic discovery.<\/p>\n<p>A cave entrance was discovered during road construction.  The workers suspended their work, equipped themselves with hand lamps, took ropes and began to move towards the cave.  With increasing excitement with each step they took, the villagers advanced approximately 150 meters and emerged from a different place.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"590\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10158\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/nevsehir3-1024x590.jpg\" data-lazy- title=\"\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/nevsehir3-1024x590.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10158\" title=\"\"><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Local People are in Great Excitement<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>After the discovery, the local people were in great enthusiasm and excitement.  This discovery could add a new chapter to the rich history of Cappadocia.  Villagers, <strong>UNESCO<\/strong> Listed on the World Cultural Heritage list <strong>Cappadocia <\/strong>They hope to offer this new underground city, located in the heart of the region, to the service of tourism.<\/p>\n<p>Talat Damgac\u0131 said, \u201cThe place we entered was not a cave, it was literally a large underground city.  We want this place to be brought into tourism.  We were quite nervous at the entrance, and to make it easier to return, we pulled a 150-meter rope and proceeded inside.  Inside <strong>galleries, rooms and tombs <\/strong>is available.  &#8220;We want to make this place a part of tourism,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"596\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10159\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/nevsehir4-1024x596.jpg\" data-lazy- title=\"\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"596\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/nevsehir4-1024x596.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10159\" title=\"\"><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Plans to Open to Tourism<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>This new discovery, located close to the Derinkuyu underground city, has created a new potential for tourism in the region.  Authorities are planning to work to preserve this historical area and open it to tourists.  Locals are hopeful that this discovery will bring new opportunities to their village.<\/p>\n<p>Following the excavation and restoration work that will begin in the near future, the underground city will be presented to visitors.
