In the first week of December, a tall, bright monolith was seen on a beach on the Isle of Wight, but it soon disappeared from Compton beach on the west coast of the mountain.  Later that month, a metal monolith also appeared in a field in Baasrode, Belgium. Some compare these metal monoliths with the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey, which they see as a symbol that has influenced the development of human evolution.<\/p>\n<p>The helicopter pilot who discovered the Utah monolith said the structures were &#8220;<strong>to a new wave artist<\/strong>\u201d or says he thinks it might belong to a fan of Stanley Kubrick. A Colorado photographer said one night in a remote area in Utah, four people arrived and knocked over the hollow stainless steel object and walked away.<strong>leave no trace<\/strong>He said he observed what they said.  Officials stated that visitors crushed plants with their vehicles and left human waste behind.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, officials in the city of Atascadero in California announced that the monolith was destroyed by a group of young men who made a 5-hour journey in the middle of the night to remove it.  \u201cWe are sorry that these young men felt the need to drive 5 hours to come into our community and destroy the monolith,\u201d local Mayor Heather Moreno said.<\/p>\n<p>The destruction of the monoliths and such actions have sparked a debate about how to preserve not only works of art, but also the environment and public spaces. Written in Gokturk alphabet on it is &#8220;<strong>Look at the sky, see the moon<\/strong>The metal block with the phrase &#8221; was revealed with the speech made by President Recep Tayyip Erdo\u011fan at the National Space Program. The New York Times newspaper announced the news with the headline &#8220;A monolith has emerged in Turkey.&#8221;  While German newspaper S\u00fcddeutsche Zeitung reported the news with the title &#8220;Aliens in Anatolia&#8221;, G\u00f6beklitepe was described as &#8220;Turkey&#8217;s Stonehenge&#8221;.
