The Nag Hammadi documents sparked a major controversy within the Christian world. These documents claimed that an apostle had married a woman called\u00a0<\/span><strong><span dir=\"auto\">&#8220;Mary Magdalene&#8221;\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><strong><span dir=\"auto\">and that they had a child together<\/span><\/strong><span dir=\"auto\">\u00a0. In December 1945, Muhammed Ali and his brother found a one-meter-tall earthenware pot while digging.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span dir=\"auto\">When Muhammad Ali and his brother found the pottery, expecting to find gold, they discovered 13 papyrus buds wrapped in leather.\u00a0<\/span><strong><span dir=\"auto\">The Nag Hammadi<\/span><\/strong><span dir=\"auto\">\u00a0documents attracted the attention of Egyptian authorities, and some were smuggled to the United States. Years later, Muhammad Ali reappeared, stating that the documents were lost, but 52 sacred texts remained.
