The city of Italy, famous for its pizza, is located on the coast of Naples, very close to the land.  It is a small but shapely island just off the Bay of Naples.  The island, which consists of two cliffs and is connected to each other by a bridge, is one of the most mysterious regions of Italy.  The interesting events told about the island suggest that the island is cursed.  It is visited by thousands of tourists who are curious about its story and want to see it closely.<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1601\" width=\"841\" height=\"561\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/gaiola.jpg\" data-lazy- title=\"\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/gaiola.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1601\" width=\"841\" height=\"561\" title=\"\"><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>In the lower parts of the island;  There are sunken ancient city ruins from the Roman period.  Thanks to the clear water of the bay, it is possible to see the ruins clearly.  There is a small villa on the island from ancient times.  There is a magnificent panoramic view of the island.  However, the island remained uninhabited because people were afraid of the curse told about it.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1594\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/gaiola1.jpg\" data-lazy- title=\"\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/gaiola1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1594\" title=\"\"><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>It is estimated that the cursed reputation of the island began in the 19th century when a magician monk lived.  Living alone, isolated from the community, the monk disappeared without a trace and was never seen again.  Adana&#8217;s later inhabitants are Luigi Negri, who bought the island and owned an important fishing company.  He built the large villa with ruins on it.  However, after a short time, he started to have financial problems and had to sell his assets when he went bankrupt.  The villa and the entire island have been home to many different people throughout the 20th century, who suffered various misfortunes and added to the island&#8217;s notoriety.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1602\" width=\"840\" height=\"557\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/gaiola12.jpg\" data-lazy- title=\"\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/gaiola12.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1602\" width=\"840\" height=\"557\" title=\"\"><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>In the 1920s, the Swiss owner of the island, Hans Braun, was murdered and found wrapped in a carpet.  Hans Braun&#8217;s wife drowned while swimming in the sea.  Later, a man named Otto Grunback died of a heart attack while visiting the villa.  Its next owner, writer and pharmaceutical industrialist Maurice-Yves Sandoz, was imprisoned in a mental hospital in Switzerland in 1958 and committed suicide there.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"680\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1596\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/gaiola3-1024x680.jpeg\" data-lazy- title=\"\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"680\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/gaiola3-1024x680.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1596\" title=\"\"><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>Gaiola Island later;  The company also belonged to Baron Karl Paul Langheim, a bankrupt German industrialist.  Thereupon, he sold the island to Gianni Agnelli, the owner of Fiat, who had suffered many tragic deaths in his family.  Another owner of Gaiola Island is the American industrialist Jean Paul Getty.  The eldest son committed suicide, the youngest son died, and a grandson was kidnapped by an organized crime syndicate.  The family that took the island has had its share of many misfortunes.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"680\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1597\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/gaiola8-1024x680.jpg\" data-lazy- title=\"\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"680\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/gaiola8-1024x680.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1597\" title=\"\"><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>The last owner of the island is Gianpasquale Grappone, who was imprisoned and his wife died in a car accident.  After 1978, Gaiola Island became state property, along with the nearby marine protected area, Gaiola Underwater Park.  Since those years, the island has become a deserted place where no one has ever visited.  But in 2009, the owners of the villa across the island were killed and it was thought that the curse of the island did not stop.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1598\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/gaiola10-1024x576.jpg\" data-lazy- title=\"\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/gaiola10-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1598\" title=\"\"><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>There is also the possibility that the stories told about the island may have been exaggerated over time.  They once connected the island to the mainland by a cable car.  No evidence was found to prove the story of the woman who drowned while on the island.  But the misfortunes of the islanders are well-known.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1599\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/gaiola9-1024x576.webp\" data-lazy- title=\"\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/gaiola9-1024x576.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1599\" title=\"\"><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>The coastline with Gaiola Island, which is close to the coast, is one of the beautiful places to visit.  Boat tours around the island and scuba diving at Gaiola Underwater Park are possible.
