There are countless stories and letters written during the war years.

Due to the close distance between the trenches where the soldiers fought; Mutual exchanges were made between Turkish and Anzac soldiers. With the end of the war when the night falls, the movements on both fronts can be felt very easily. Even according to the narration; The New Zealanders were playing the guitar at night in the trench, our people were listening and even clapping at the end of the song. Sometimes on the front where the Turkish soldiers are; The soldiers were singing folk songs, applause was rising from the front on the opposite side. So much so that they were sent to reciprocal fronts by writing a request on papers.

According to a story told; After the request song from the Anzac soldiers was not played for 3 days, a paper was sent explaining why the request was not played. because you shot our beautiful soldier 3 days ago, they replied. Mustafa Kemal, who became the Commander of the 19th Division on May 14, 1915, described the situation of the trenches and the mood of the Turkish soldier with these words:

“The distance between mutual trenches is 8 meters, so death is certain.
