The construction of the bridge, which has been planned for many years over the Dardanelles Strait, started in 2017.  The bridge, whose construction was completed in 5 years, has become the longest suspension bridge in the world.  The huge bridge contains important symbols in terms of \u00c7anakkale and its history.  Connecting the continents of Asia and Europe, the bridge is a candidate to be the first in the world in many subjects with its fine design.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The idea of \u200b\u200bbuilding a bridge in the Dardanelles was first put forward between 1984 and 1989, and a tender was held for the bridge in 1995.  18 foreign companies participated in the tender, and the winning company withdrew from the project, stating that such a project could not be done.  The bridge, which was brought to the agenda again in 2016, was put into the project phase and its construction started in 2017.  The Asian end of the bridge is located in the town of Lapseki, 35 kilometers from the center of \u00c7anakkale, and the European end is located near the S\u00fctl\u00fcce Village of the Gelibolu district.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1751\" width=\"840\" height=\"509\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/canakkale4-1.webp\" data-lazy- title=\"\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/canakkale4-1.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1751\" width=\"840\" height=\"509\" title=\"\"><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<h3 id=\"h-1915-canakkale-koprusu-nun-ilginc-ozellikleri\"><strong>Interesting Features of the 1915 \u00c7anakkale Bridge<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>1915 \u00c7anakkale Bridge;  It is the first suspension bridge of the Dardanelles Strait and the fifth of the Marmara Region.  There are 3 traffic lanes in both directions of the bridge where wheeled vehicles will pass.  There are walking paths for maintenance and repair on both sides of the bridge.  It has a total length of 101 kilometers, 89 kilometers of which are highways and 12 kilometers of connection roads. This middle span has earned the bridge the title of &#8220;the world&#8217;s largest suspension bridge with a middle span&#8221;.  The number 2023 symbolizes the 100th anniversary of the republic. It is expected that the long queues at the crossing of the ferries will disappear and the bridge will be used.  Especially between Asia and Europe, it will provide great convenience for the trucks carrying the import and export goods.  It is thought that the difficulties experienced in crossing the ferry will disappear when the weather conditions are not suitable.<\/p>\n<p>With the elimination of the dependency on the ferry, the supply processes will be provided faster and the demand for the organized industrial zones in the region will increase.  The number of industrial zones in Biga and \u00c7anakkale centers, which are more accessible in terms of logistics, will increase.
