The town was built inside a crater formed as a result of a meteorite impact.  Since the walls of the houses are covered with diamonds, they shine brightly on sunny days.  Moreover, the townspeople became aware of the existence of these diamonds too late.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The town, which has a quiet environment away from the hustle and bustle of the city, is one of the places worth seeing in Germany.  Located inside a meteorite crater, the town is over 1000 years old.  Unaware of the situation, the public thinks that they are in the criteria of an extinct volcano, not inside the meteorite crater.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1949\" width=\"839\" height=\"472\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Nordlingen1.jpeg\" data-lazy- title=\"\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Nordlingen1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1949\" width=\"839\" height=\"472\" title=\"\"><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<h3 id=\"h-duvarlarda-bulunan-elmaslarin-kesfedilmesi\"><strong>Discovering Diamonds Found in Walls<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>At the end of the 1960s, American geologists came to the town to study and research.  As a result of the researches, it was noticed that the buildings were made of the rocks called &#8216;Suevite&#8217;, which were formed in the region as a result of the meteorite impact.  The interesting part is that these rocks are filled with small diamonds.  As a result of the investigations, it is estimated that there are 72 thousand tons of diamonds inside the walls where the houses in N\u00f6rdlingen are built.  Suevite stone formed as a result of meteorite impact is found in many parts of the world.  But the diamond density in it is not as high as in this town.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1950\" width=\"839\" height=\"453\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Suevite1.jpeg\" data-lazy- title=\"\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Suevite1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1950\" width=\"839\" height=\"453\" title=\"\"><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>It is estimated that the 1 kilometer-wide meteorite, which hit the region 15 million years ago, moved at a speed of 25 kilometers per second.  The meteorite, which hit at a very high speed, opened a 26 kilometers diameter crater.  At the same time, the carbon bubbles in the rocks turned into diamonds due to the heat and pressure caused by the impact.  The people, who did not notice the crater for a long time after the impact, used the stones found in the region in the construction of buildings.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"970\" height=\"500\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1952\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Nordlingen4-1.jpeg\" data-lazy- title=\"\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"970\" height=\"500\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Nordlingen4-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1952\" title=\"\"><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>The Town of N\u00f6rdlingen is one of three towns in Germany with solid and built city walls.  The town has the ruins of a Roman castle dating back to 85 AD.  The first records of the town&#8217;s existence date back to the 9th century.  In the town, which has a population of 24 thousand, it is seen that almost all the buildings shine in the light.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1954\" width=\"839\" height=\"472\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Nordlingen3.jpeg\" data-lazy- title=\"\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Nordlingen3.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1954\" width=\"839\" height=\"472\" title=\"\"><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>The pit formed as a result of the meteorite impact turned into a lake, and fertile sediments accumulated on the lake floor for millions of years.  For this reason, the lands of the town are extremely fertile.  At the same time, there are many mines where the suevite stone is extracted.  There is a museum where the Suevite stone is exhibited.
