Located in the state of South Dakota, this mountain<\/strong> <strong>There are four different colossal face sculptures on its cliffs called Hills.  It is said that there is a secret room where these statues, which are also the subject of many movies, are located.  These faces carved into the mountain are among America&#8217;s most visited tourist attractions.  However, tourists are not allowed to enter the secret room behind the statues.<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2539\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Rushmore-Dagi5-1024x576.jpg\" data-lazy- title=\"\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Rushmore-Dagi5-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2539\" title=\"\"><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>The memorial faces on Mount Rushmore belong to the presidents of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt, who have become icons for the USA.  The order of the relief faces from left to right;  George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln.  The huge statues carved into the mountainside can be seen even from far away.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2540\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Rushmore-Dagi7.jpg\" data-lazy- title=\"\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Rushmore-Dagi7.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2540\" title=\"\"><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>The construction of the sculptures began in 1927 under the leadership of the American sculptor Gutzon Borglum.  More than 400 workers worked during the construction of the monument, which was completed in 14 years.  The statues, which reach a weight of 450 tons, are carved on the mountain slope, which reaches a height of about 18 meters.  When the monument was first designed, it was planned to be built up to the waist of the presidents, but the project was stopped after the faces were completed due to lack of funds.  Thus, only faces are placed on the mountain.  Carving symbolic monuments into the mountain has not been an easy task.  For this reason, apart from traditional drill and chisel methods, dynamite and pneumatic hammers have been used.  No one died during the construction of the monument, which was quite difficult.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"692\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2542\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Rushmore-Dagi4-1-1024x692.jpg\" data-lazy- title=\"\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"692\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Rushmore-Dagi4-1-1024x692.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2542\" title=\"\"><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>The project was originally designed as a recording hall in the 1920s.  It was planned to make a statue of the 5th person next to the four Presidents, but this had to be abandoned because it was too complex.  The fifth person to be designed is Susan B. Anthony.  Due to the abandonment of this statue, work has begun on building a secret room behind it.  In the secret room designed, the most mysterious information in the history of the USA will be stored.  Poor Gutzon designed the secret room project, but died before it could be completed.  With the completion of the room after the works that lasted until the 90s, some symbolic documents of the USA began to be kept.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2543\" width=\"844\" height=\"564\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/oda.webp\" data-lazy- title=\"\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kasifiz.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/oda.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2543\" width=\"844\" height=\"564\" title=\"\"><\/noscript><\/figure>\n<p>According to what has been said;  Mount Rushmore is one of the sacred sites for the indigenous tribes living in the region.  The mountain was extorted from the tribes for the making of the statues.  In 1980, the US Supreme Court admitted that he was taken by force.  In 2012, the United Nations Human Rights official advocated the return of the Black Hills to the indigenous people.
