He survived the attacks organized by his uncles and uncles thanks to his father’s loyal commanders. He suffered defeats in the face of Özbek Khan, and had to flee because the people in the conquered areas were put to the sword. He hid in the Pamir Mountains with a few of his friends. Babur Shah, who had no one left but his loyal chiefs, described his defeat in his own book as “I was hopeless enough to accept death”.

While hiding in the Pamir Mountains, they have nothing but sandals on their feet and sackcloth. During this hiding, an old Turkish woman hosted them in her own house. After this visit, the life of Babur Shah, and therefore the future of Asia, has completely changed. The old woman’s brother fought in Timur’s army for years. This old soldier told at length about the expeditions they made to India, and the riches and fertility of India. Babur Shah, who had been listening to the stories of his grandfather Timur for months, was very impressed and started to research and read Timur’s life and what he did. The only dream of Babur Shah now is to add India, the land of wealth, to the Mughal lands.

<img src=”https://kasifiz.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/babursah3.png” alt=”” class=”wp-image-3059″ width=”841″ height=”545″ />

Conquest of India

Babur Shah, who wanted to conquer India, sent news to the lands of Turkestan. Having learned that Babur Shah was alive, thousands of warriors joined his ranks. Babur Shah, who took the lands of Afghanistan like Kabul, strengthened his reign and became a state again. Babür Shah, who started preparations to conquer India, sent news for the conquest to Anatolian lands. An important force of Ottoman soldiers sided with Babur Shah.

After the preparations were completed, an expedition was launched on India. The Battle of Panishad, considered one of the most important battles in history, took place near the city of Delhi, India. Babur Shah had an army of 13 thousand, and the Sultan of India, Ibrahim Ludi Khan, had an army of more than 1000 elephants, ranging from 50 thousand to 100 thousand. İbrahim Ludî Khan attacked the Turkish army together with the elephant army. Babur Shah, who surrounded the enemy from the wings and gathered them in the middle, started fire with the artillery unit led by the Ottoman officer. The elephants, who had never heard the sound of cannon until that day, ran away in fear and began to crush Ibrahim Ludi Khan’s soldiers. On the other hand, Ottoman soldiers started to open fire with rifles. Despite the big difference in numbers, a significant part of the Delhi soldiers, who realized that they would be defeated, switched sides to the Turkish side. Injured, İbrahim Ludî Han was abandoned by his closest commanders and died on the battlefield. After the 7-hour war, everything was over, one of the greatest victories in Asia was won and the gates of India were opened to the Turks.

After the victory, Babur Shah declared himself emperor of India. According to historians; The “Victory of Panishad”, which was won in 1521 for the Central Asian Turks, means the same thing as the “Victory of Manzikert” for the Anatolian Turks. In his book, Babur Shah described the Ottoman officer Mustafa Rumi, who contributed greatly to the victory, as “the one and only of our century”. The year 1526 was accepted as the golden year of the Turks. Because the same year, Suleiman the Magnificent also won the Battle of Mohac.

After the conquest of India, Babur Shah initiated a large-scale construction project. It has signed projects that are important enough to enable many cities such as Delhi to take their current shape. In the cities of Northern India, the Red Fort, baths, madrasahs and bazaars in Delhi, the majority of Central Asian type architectures are from the Mughal Shah period.

<img width=”1024″ height=”565″ src=”https://kasifiz.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/babursah2-1024×565.jpg” alt=”” class=”wp-image-3060″ />

The Interesting Life of Babur Shah

In addition to being a good ruler, Babur Shah was also a person who loved writing and poetry. Sometimes he would spend a long time closing himself in the library. Sometimes he would hit the deserts alone, like the madmen. Although he was a tough commander, he was very understanding towards his own people. In fact, he was very upset that the Turks killed each other due to sectarian quarrels and largely stopped the conflicts on this issue.

Babur Shah has very strict rules about military service. The punishment for a soldier who shirks during the watch is to have his nose cut off. At the same time, he told several times in his own book that the Afghan soldiers he cut made towers from their heads. Babur Shah also describes the assassinations made against him in his own book. He mentions that he had one of the criminals mutilated, the other skinned alive and another one crushed under elephants.

Even the most extraordinary details of his life are included in his work called Babürname. She even described her love for a man in all its subtleties in her youth. In this case, which is mentioned on pages 113 and 114, it is told that she was forced into marriage by her mother when she was 17, but she fell in love with another man. It is said that he was forcibly sent to the solitude by his mother because of his cold behavior towards his wife.

Even in the most difficult times, he did not give up the conversations, hunting trips and garden pleasures at the tables he set up with his close friends. In the chat assemblies, raki and wine were drunk and various drugs made from cannabis and opium were used. Although Babur Shah repented many times, he never stopped using alcohol and drugs, which broke his repentance. Alcohol and other substances, which he started in his youth, caused his life to end at a young age.

<img src=”https://kasifiz.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/babursah6.jpg” alt=”” class=”wp-image-3061″ width=”839″ height=”761″ />

Babur Shah, who conquered India at a young age and took Samarkand, Bukhara, died in Agra at the age of 48 in 1530 due to the oriental boil he was caught.
