Hz. Upon Prophet Lot’s prayer, Allah Almighty sent two angels disguised as men. Hz. Gabriel and Hz. Michael Lot knocked on the door of the Prophet. Hz. The Prophet Lot invited the guests to the house and asked them if they wanted something to eat. The guests said that they did not want food. In a short time, Mr. Prophet Lot understood that they were angels.
Hz. The wife of the Prophet Lot was a person who left the right path. For this reason, he informed other people that there were two male guests in their house. Hearing this, the people of Lot surrounded the Prophet’s house and asked for the guests. The angels told Prophet Lut not to worry and to leave there with his family until the morning prayer. Afterwards, there were great earthquakes, acid rains fell, storms broke out, volcanoes erupted and the people living with their cities were submerged under the water. It is believed that the city where the Lut tribe lived was under the Lake of Lut.
There are some verses on this subject in the Surah Araf and Hijr in the Qur’an. There is no clear information that the city of the tribe of Lot was under the lake.
