Alamut Castle is an extremely important castle, which was the scene of great wars in history. Alamut Castle, located in the city of Qazvin in Iran, is located in a region very close to the Caspian Sea due to its geographical location. The castle is located on large rocks at an altitude of approximately 2000 meters. Due to its location, the castle is called “Eagle’s Nest”.
Hasan Sabbah, known as the leader of the Assassins, seized the castle to make a base for himself in order to achieve his goals. The castle is located on a fertile land surrounded by high mountains, located on high rocks that are difficult to reach. Hasan Sabbah promised his followers a false paradise here.
Alamut Castle, which was used as a base for the Assassins, was connected to the Ismaili sect. It is one of the most important places where poppyism spread.
False Paradise Made in Alamut Castle:
Hasan Sabbah has a garden that he created in a secret area of the castle and described as Paradise. He has transformed his followers into bodyguards who are bound to him by the promise of Paradise. With a single word of Hasan Sabbah, the bodyguards who killed him were raised.
A very beautiful garden was built in a secret area of the castle and beautiful girls were placed in it. Heaven sends its followers to this garden by giving drugs. The disciples who come to their senses when they open their eyes are in this fragrant garden with all kinds of flowers, different fruits and beautiful girls.
They think this place is Paradise. People who spend time here for a while are then sent back to their location by being put to sleep with poppy again.
Hasan Sabbah was making promises that if you obey me, you will go to this paradise after you die. This event, which is done in a very realistic way, is extremely believable and the followers really think that they will go to heaven. For this reason, Hasan Sabbah becomes able to do whatever he says.
Assassinations during the Hasan Sabbah period were carried out with poisoned daggers. When the bouncers chose a victim, they would kill it, especially in public, to show their power.
No bodyguards who committed the assassination were caught. Because after killing the other person, he was committing suicide by stabbing himself with the same dagger. In this way, very important men of the Seljuk State were killed.
Hasan Sabbah lived during the reign of the Seljuk Sultan Melikşah and was one of the people who troubled the Seljuk State the most. He played a major role in weakening the Seljuks. Although the Seljuk Sultan Melikşah besieged many times to take the Alamut castle, he could not take it and lifted the siege.
The castle was found in the hands of the Assassins for approximately 250 years. Alamut Castle was taken by the Mongolian ruler Hülagü as a result of the Mongolian invasion that surrounded Europe in the 1250s and the castle was destroyed. It is said that Hasan Sabbah remained under the walls of this castle.
