Mukaab, Saudi Arabia’s Cube Mega Skyscraper

Saudi Arabia has announced that it will build Mukaab, a giant cube-shaped skyscraper. This skyscraper will be 400 meters high, 400 meters wide and 400 meters long. Mukaab, financed by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund, can rise up to 41st place in the world’s tallest buildings ranking. Announced by Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, the de facto ruler of Saudi Arabia, the huge project also caused some criticism due to its resemblance to the Kaaba in Mecca.

The massive skyscraper project, Mukaab, is run by the New Murabba Development Company, headed by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The project is scheduled to be completed by 2030. When the project is completed, it is aimed to contribute to the non-oil revenues of Saudi Arabia and provide an economic return of approximately 48 billion dollars.

Features of the Giant Skyscraper Project Mukaab

The project, which will be built on an area of ​​19 square kilometers northwest of the Saudi capital Riyadh, is designed as a new center of the city and aims to accommodate hundreds of thousands of people. Within the scope of the project, there will be 104 thousand residences, 9 thousand hotel rooms and 980 thousand square meters of retail space. There will also be 1.4 million square meters of office space, 620,000 square meters of leisure space and 1.8 million square meters of community facilities. The new Murabba will be located at the crossroads of King Salman and King Khalid.

The interior of the project is equipped with enormous holographic projections, aiming to transport the audience to different worlds, realities, times and places. The interior will also feature observation decks, restaurants and a rotating tower. The project will be the world’s largest one-piece built structure. There will also be a garden on the roof of the cube building, which is designed to be 400 meters high and 400 meters wide on each side. Mukaab will have a floor area of ​​about 2 square kilometers and will theoretically be large enough to hold 20 Empire State Buildings.

The building will include a museum, a technology and design university, a theater and more than 80 entertainment venues. Also, this cube-shaped skyscraper will be located just 20 minutes from Riyadh Airport and is seen as the new symbol of Riyadh. Inside the exterior of Mukaab, there will be another spiral-shaped skyscraper. This gigantic building is the latest example of Saudi Arabia’s rapidly developing construction industry.
