Forest Fire in Denizli is on its Fifth Day: The Fight Continues!

The forest fire, which started five days ago on Karcı Mountain in Denizli’s Merkezefendi district, has still not been brought under control. Although the steep and rocky terrain conditions made extinguishing efforts difficult, it was announced that the fire did not reach residential areas and did not pose a threat in these areas. While intensive intervention to the fire continues with helicopters from the air and water trucks from the ground, teams are working non-stop to stop the progress of the fire.

Support from Non-Governmental Organizations and Volunteers

While forestry and fire brigade teams work 24 hours a day to respond to the fire, non-governmental organizations and volunteers also take an active role in this effort. Although the spread of pine cones to new areas during the fire makes it difficult to control the fire, ground crews are trying to prevent the spread of the fire by opening strips on the land.
