Azerbaijan Airlines Passenger Plane Crashed in Kazakhstan!

A passenger plane belonging to Azerbaijan Airlines crashed during an emergency landing near the city of Aktau, Kazakhstan. The plane, whose route was changed due to fog, sent an emergency signal over the Caspian Sea before crashing. According to preliminary data, the plane decided to land after hitting a flock of birds. There were a total of 67 people on the plane, including 62 passengers and 5 crew members. Kazakh authorities reported that 28 people survived the accident.

There were 67 people on the plane

There were a total of 67 people on the crashed plane, including 62 passengers and 5 crew members. Kazakh authorities stated that 28 people survived and 5 people were in serious condition. It was noted that there were 37 Azerbaijani, 6 Kazakh, 3 Kyrgyz and 16 Russian citizens among the passengers.

The Plane Catched Fire After Crashing

Flames rose after the plane crash. Kazakhstan Ministry of Emergencies sent 52 personnel and 11 vehicles to respond to the fire. An operations center was established while rescue teams were working in the region.

Brazilian Made Embraer ERJ-190 Model Aircraft

According to Tengri news agency, the crashed plane was an Embraer ERJ-190 model, a short- and medium-haul jet produced by the Brazilian company Embraer. This aircraft is capable of carrying 96 to 114 passengers, depending on cabin configuration, and can fly up to 4,500 kilometers.

Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for those who lost their lives in the plane crash. Kremlin Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov announced that this condolence message was sent.
