The underwater sculpture museum, which is very different from the known museums, is the first underwater sculpture museum in the world. The museum was opened to visitors in 2009. The amount of sculpture in the museum, which contains 100 sculptures at the time it was opened, has increased over time. It is located a few miles offshore, at a depth of 4 to 8 meters. The sculptures in the museum are located at different points of the sea. The reason for this is to prevent the density that will occur at a certain point of the museum, which is visited by a high amount of tourists throughout the year.

Apart from human sculptures, the museum also contains figures of animals and various inanimate objects. The founder of this extraordinary and interesting museum is British photographer and sculptor Jason de Caires Taylor. Taylor used a durable cement with a neutral pH value so that the sculptures could be a natural part of the underwater life. In this way, corals and various sea creatures can roll onto the statues. Thus, these creatures change the appearance of statues in extraordinary ways over time.
