The New 7 Wonders of the World – Explorer

In the list of 7 wonders of the world, there are works that are all built by humans and reflect extraordinary engineering and architectural skills. These works are iconic architectural works that everyone in the world can recognize at first sight. Many of the works known as the 7 Wonders of Antiquity have been devastated and destroyed in the intervening centuries.

While determining the new seven wonders of the world, voting was made by an organization in Switzerland via mobile phone and internet. As an alternative to the 7 wonders of the world, new works were selected and announced on 7 July 2007. UNESCO has declared that it supports the list selected as a result of the voting. While the list of 7 wonders of the world continues to be preserved, a new list of 7 wonders has been determined.

21 finalist works, including the Hagia Sophia Mosque, participated in the competition initiated by the Switzerland-based New7Wonders Foundation to determine the new 7 wonders of the world. In the competition, where approximately 100 million people from all over the world voted for 6 years, the new 7 wonders were chosen. The new 7 wonders of the world, determined as a result of the votes, were announced in Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. The works included in the list are as follows;

1- Petra Ancient City

Its construction took a lot of time and was not easy at all.
